A Message from Sonic Reality CEO, Dave Kerzner

We are very pleased to offer such rare sample libraries as "Nick Mason Drums" which features a reunion of Pink Floyd drummer Nick Mason and recording engineer Alan Parsons for the first time since the 1970s when they worked together on the legendary album "Dark Side of the Moon."

I went into an amazing studio in England with the two of them to recreate that classic Floyd drum sound using the same EMI equipment they used back in the day at Abbey Road. I ve always been a fan of Pink Floyd, and what better way to celebrate the release of their latest album "The Endless River" than to present to you the range of Nick Mason Drums products we offer.

Dave Kerzner "New World" To Be Released This Month!

I m also proud to present to you more new music using the sounds and music software of Sonic Reality and IK Multimedia. This time it s my first-ever solo album after parting ways with the award-winning progressive rock band "Sound of Contact." It features a variety of special guests including Steve Hackett (Genesis), Jason Scheff (Chicago), Durga McBroom (Pink Floyd), Simon Phillips (The Who), Nick D Virgilio (Tears for Fears), Francis Dunnery (It Bites), David Longdon (Big Big Train), Colin Edwin (Porcupine Tree) and more. There s a cameo "Modular Moog" synth solo from Keith Emerson which we recorded while sampling his amazing Modular Moog System (one of many forthcoming Sonic Reality sample libraries).

Samples & Live Instruments

When producing a rock record, I like to do a combination of mixing live players with sequenced samples to enhance the sonic possibilities one can achieve, especially on a budget. Whether that s mixing live string players with the sounds of Miroslav Philharmonik or programming sampled drums with specific character or adding sound effects from Serafine FX Tron and Cinema Sessions, I find it incredibly helpful to have the A to Z sounds from years of work with Sonic Reality. What better way to test them out than to make music ourselves?
